Dubbed as the first Zoo in Eastern Visayas, Maasin City Zoo is one of the prime attraction that people from different places in the Philippines and the world visits.
The park is a joint project from the City of Maasin and the Province of Southern Leyte., including a private sector, the Southern Leyte Chamber of Commerce.
The Park or the Maasin City Zoo is located within the 500-hectare City Tree Park at Camp Danao in Malapoc Norte village, 12.5 kilometers away from the city center. The entrance fee for adults is P150, previously P250 thanks to the implementation of the cutting of fees. The fee for students and Senior Citizens is P100, and the fee for children is P50. There is a shuttle service available for the convenience of the visitors with a rate of P50, which is added to the entrance fee.
There are a handful of animals you can find in the park, some of which are Lions, Crocodiles, Camels, Monkeys and different kinds of Birds as well. There are also snakes of different kinds and also a Deer.
