Ajonay Festival 2019

It is again the time of the year where the City of Maasin celebrates and shows its true identity. The Ajonay Festival.

AJONAY is a typical way of life of MAASINHONS that embraces the CULTURE, TRADITON, and VALUES of COOPERATIVISM, VOLUNTARISM, UNDERSTANDING, ONENESS, and BAYANIHAN SPIRIT of the people in the community in various aspects of life. Ajonay is the official festival of Maasin City. It adopted its own basic steps, beat and music. The three basic steps are, PAG-AGNI, PAGHUGUPAY, and AJO-AJO. Last August 13, 2019 the festival was held in the city terminal. The event was particapated by 4 contingents from different elementary schools. The event was full of energy and color. The participants wowed the audience with their attractive costumes, graceful dance moves and beautifully choreographed formation.
